Vision Expo

BSA's VIRTUAL VISION EXPO: September 23rd & 24th 2021. This year's event was virtual and attendees heard from the top healthcare providers and researchers on the latest and greatest vision-related news. On Thursday, September 23rd, Our Keynote speaker was Dr. Debbie Zelinski from the Mind Eye Connection, followed Drs. Philip Troyk & Frank Lane from the Illinois Institute of Technology, James Boehm, mental health counselor, disscused his personal experience of becoming blind as a young man and how to be mentally resilient during challenging times and Dr. Parres Wright of Midwestern University. jewelry bazaar

Currently postponded. During the first week of December, Blind Service Association presents its annual Jewelry Bazaar, a fundraiser to benefit the organization. Supporters donate costume and fine jewelry to the event. A professional appraiser help guarantee that prices are fair and reasonable. Volunteers staff the show from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Shoppers delight in browsing the offerings in a fun, friendly setting. Most of all, they hope to find a special treasure to take home, knowing they've supported the work of BSA. 5k Walk

BSA's youth-led NextGen Board is hosting a 5K walk on Sunday, May 15,2022. All friends, clients, volunteers, and supporters are invited to join together and raise awareness for our blind and low vision community, as well as funds for BSA Youth Programming. The walk will go from the Lincoln Park Zoo to the Drake Hotel and back. Please call (312)236-0808 for details on participating in this event.

lights of love and remembrance

You can help support Blind Service Association (BSA) by participating in BSA's 23rd Annual Lights of Love and Remembrance Celebration on Thursday, December 16, 2021. For just $10 you can purchase a light from the string of lights that will decorate our office during this holiday season. Purchasing a white light will honor the memory of someone who continues to shine through you. Purchasing a colored light will honor those who today continue to light up your heart. For only $50 you can purchase six lights! you can download a copy of the 2021 Lights of Love donation card here. or give your gift thru the paypal link on our donate page.

When we receive your check or money order we will mail a card to you so you can add your own personal message before sending it to the person you are honoring or to the family of the person you are remembering. The card will indicate that a light was purchased in his/her memory or honor and will continue to shine for 10 days. Remember to get your request in early. After the New Year, a list of all the names of the people being honored and remembered will be available on-line. Click here for a list of 2021 light donors.
