About Us

Throughout BSC's 100-year history, our mission has been to inspire and empower those who are blind or with low vision. We provide ongoing free assistance and support to help our clients manage their lives independently and with dignity.

The heart of BSC is the Reading and Recording Program. We are one of the few agencies in the U.S. providing one-on-one service in our dedicated reading studios. We also offer a summer Youth Program, Technology Training, Braille instruction, and a host of interest and empowerment groups as well as social activities.

For more information or to schedule a reading appointment, contact Marty Kummetz at mkummetz@bsachicago.org or leave a message at 312-236-0808.
